47 anglers participated in this great event. Boys, girls, men, and women all came together to create the foundation of life long memories and traditions!
One of the major sponsors Jerry "the Weasel" Messman. It is through movers and shakers like Jerry that the future of outdoor skills is built. These two boys are holding some of Gander Mountain's Guide Series muskie gear...ready to be deployed with those big grins!
Among the participants were Mike Scholler, Amanda, ChuckStrysick, and Muskie Guide Patricia Strutz! Even with cold weather, that boat looks HOT!
Tyler and Don with 28 inches of "fast attack cruiser" Muskie! If you've ever wondered what a bear trap on the end of a fishes body would look like, go fish for Muskie!
The lodge..... it wasn't even Halloween yet, and that grass ain't white from old age. It snowed for the Muskie hunters.... and you can't even use it for tracking. But it sure does make the Sunrise Lodge more cozy. Let's go in, shall we?
Son....out of my way! This picture looks good enough to eat. Folks, the Sunrise Lodge has a great breakfast -- piles of pancakes,French toast, sausage, orange juice, bacon, eggs, syrup, coffee. What a way to live. The Youth Muskie weekend was supported by more than just sportsmen. Take the lodge for example... they extended their hospitality. In doing so they provided a platform for the youth to gather and start to know what "fish camp" feels like... I wouldn't forget a meal like this with great friends -- could you?
2006 Youth Muskie Weekend..... they didn't have to do it. This was about sportsmen and women, sponsors, volunteers, a body of water and boats, experts and in-the-field classes, time volunteered and time remembered. It's a formula for the youth, so when you "do the math" it adds up to some very large dividends!
Some day one of these kids may be giving a speech as a Conservation Warden or Professional Muskie guide, or be bent down on the end of a pier helping their small son or daughter cast for the first time.... and in their mind they'll always remember where it started!
Between the Lakes Muskie Inc chapter from Sheboygan, WI teamed up with 22 supporting sponsors donating financial support and products to make this a memorable experience. Youths were chosen in early August from an application process where they related participation in past outdoor experiences. They attended two evening educational sessions becoming familiar with identification of the muskie, their habitat, proper equipment to use, assessing weather situations for safety, reading maps and electronics to navigate a lake and find potential fishing spots & refreshing boating safety skills to ensure a safe memorable fishing adventure.
They had another evening session entailing hands-on casting for Muskie at pond-side. This adventure was made possible by a BTL member sharing their boat and expertise of the fall Muskie hunt with the youth and their chaperones. Each group took to the waters of Lac Viex Desert on Friday afternoon & Saturday to chase the King of fish, the muskie. They had state-of-the art muskie equipment and baits donated by sponsors. They used their newly found skills in navigating the waters and reading detailed maps and electronics to develop a plan to successfully hook into a muskie.
Each evening culminated with a camp fire circle to share their experiences of the day and to interact with local guide & Muskie expert Patricia Strutz on how to successfully fish the Muskie. Fish Management Technician Kiepke, from teh Woodruff area, talked about creel surveys, the importance of creel surveys, recovery of Muskie habitat, and catch & release fishing.
We encourage your assistance in putting out a "Turning Leaf Challenge" to other sportsmens' clubs to become involved in educating our future anglers in a most-enjoyable outdoor adventure.
This is just the second year of the muskie adventure, but by the enthusiasm it garners through both our members and the recipients we look forward to many more such adventures.
There are many other clubs and organizations that may be willing and able to jump onboard and TAKE A KID INTO THE OUTDOORS, and we encourage the media to challenge such organizations to partake in and support these youth outdoor education programs.

Book a trip and find out...remember, some of the Pack's ice fishing catches are legendary.....
more to come ----
One bird shy of a limit... but some great shooting to be sure! Have you ever been in a personal blind and actually been part of the "landing zone"?!?! It is awesome!!!!! You have to try it.

Let us do the scouting for the fin and the feather. You just have to have fun... cast straight, lead the bird, suck up the fall breeze....I gotta tell ya, "IT'S ON!"
Rita and her "party" stand next to a Wolf Pack wind chime! "We are honored! 80 years of Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall... it's no wonder you've seen it all... you chose Wolf Pack to stand with and fish... and for that we pray that you get your birthday wish!" The Wolf Pack wishes Grandma Sheldon many more and we're glad we were a small part of the memories to follow.
It's one thing to catch fish... and it's another to catch fish and have a blast doing it! It was like fishing with ol' friends!
Folks, don't miss out. Seriously, we still have openings for any fishing adventure that you want to get out on or create. Stop back by the website and check on some of the quality Adventures that await you -- now, this fall, and this winter!
Run with the Pack!
Frabill is again making memories possible! Both of these fish got netted at the same time in the same net for mother and son on their fishing trip from South Dakota. Both fish are getting sent to be mounted!
Landing a fish, a critical time, is when things can go wrong! We've all heard stories about the BIG one getting away while trying to get it in the net. But here you have two 20+ lb. fish that were successfully and confidently netted, one right after the other into a FRABILL. Then the net was hauled out of the water into the boat without any problems.
Try tossing over 40 lbs. of shaking/fighting weight into any net and see what breaks! Wolf Pack has always relied upon FRABILL for it's proven quality -- there is the proof folks!
FRABILL -- from the net, to the hoop, through the shaft, "Quality used equals quality landed!"
Powder Puff Derby may bring out the competition between boats, but on-board it's all hands on deck to get the job done. The great part is, in the end, everyone on every boat is contributing to a very worthy cause!
Fishing Summer Camps!!!
Giving the opportunity for today's youth to attend Fishing Summer Camps gives them great memories and good friends......forever!
Wheel-barrow full of trout, minds full of memories, and a grill full of great taste! John Schwartz of Harborside Villas takes some time out to fish with his son and friends with the Wolf Pack's private pond adventure! After a day of fishing with the Wolf Pack, stop by Harborside Villas' shops and visit Cerealicious Cafe and Smoothie Bar, Popcorn Planet & Confectionery, and Ferraris Market and Deli. Great food and souvenirs for the entire family!
Wendy, Brice, and Tayler came from South Dakota to Salmon fish! Well Salmon fish is what they did... that is a great family catch! The Wolf Pack wants to thank you for choosing to fish with us, you South Dakotians were great to have aboard!
The fish bite is still pretty good! The Pack is successfully using J-plugs, Big Daddy Spoons, Screemer Spoons and Flies and a few Fast Tracks -- the color of choice for the Pack is green and glow.
Thank You to HUBBARD FEED for their support and it was great to see that this trip was a success!
It was a blast having you on board! If these fish were the candles on the cake, you'd have a three-alarm fire!!!!! From the Wolf Pack...have a great year!
