Mixed Bags!!

The fishing continues to improve and is giving us some mixed bags. Pictured below is a big Skamania steelhead!
Big thanks to the Reimer group for a fun filled morning. They brought in kings, cohos, lake trout, and some steelhead!
The kings are still not showing their faces too often but the ones that are got some good size. This one tipped the scales at 18 pounds!!

Another shoutout to the events planners from Kohler! We thank you for all your business and a great afternoon showing you why we are the number one choice for an event while visiting the area!
Fishing will only get better and better everyday! Got some openings available! Next weekend is the Sheboygan Salmon Cup with both of our boats competing. The Wolf Pack II boat will be trying to one up their 2nd place finish from 2012!

Cohos are starting!!

Was out this morning. Lack of pictures due to the constant rain but we are seeing improvements. Pictured here is four coho salmon and one rainbow trout. Had a few others that also got away. The cohos should just continue to increase our catch numbers in the weeks to come. A great eating fish with bright red filets! Got some openings so lets get some of these in your freezers today!! 920-918-9653

The smallmouth bass fishing in the river remains good! Caught some more nice fish this weekend.
We caught these fish on shiners under a float and also slow rolling some inline spinners.
The big females are still in and have not spawned out yet as you can see the belly on this fish. Good river levels should keep this bite good for the next few weeks!
The lake Michigan bite is slowly getting better with a few kings, lake trout, and rainbow trout being caught. Reports of good numbers of coho salmon to the south that could show up here any day and fill some coolers!!
Many nice sized kings reported caught all over the lake with a few 20plus pounders weighed this weekend. Looks like the summer for a trophy! Come get yours! 920-918-9653

The steelhead have moved out but now its time for a numbers fishery of smallmouth bass! Lots of nice size bass being caught along with a few northern pike that didn't get pictured today. This will last a few weeks with higher river levels!
Another tank! These bruisers on light tackle is an absolute blast! Come get some

You can go after these fish multiple ways. Flies, live bait on bobbers, and casting an assortment of artificial baits!
The boats are both in the water and ready to be chartered. Pictures and reports coming soon. Fishing reports from other boats show some catches of some browns and lake trout. The salmon should start to show as the water warms up! Stay tuned!!

It looks like spring has finally showed some life! Along with spring came a little window of steelhead fishing that will be short lived with the fast warming water! But with warmer water and dropping river levels comes smallmouth bass and northern pike.
Some fresh fish and some leftover fish from this winter are being caught. The silver fish above is a female that was ready to drop her eggs. This male below has been in the river awhile hence the pretty colors!

This male was hanging with a female protecting the bed but got fooled! He was released and went back to his mate and finished their process of reproduction!
The piers are finally in allowing us to splash our charter boats and start the Lake Michigan season. This coming week the 28ft baha will be in and ready for action There should be some brown trout to catch! We will keep you posted!

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

We are prepping the boats for the Lake Michigan 2013 season. The 28ft baha will be ready to go in a few weeks and ready to terrorize some of these brown trout!! Don't miss out on this spring opportunity fishing the shorelines!!
There's a good chance at catching a trophy sized brown this time of year!
The summer salmon is months away but the dates are filling up faster everyday. Get your date picked and call to secure your spot in our books!
With almost record setting catch numbers in 2012, were looking with another great season with a good chance of some bigger sized kings if the trend continues!
Also this spring comes the steelhead run! The river is mainly loose but moving like crazy. Keep in touch if you want to tie into some of these on our local tribs!
A trophy sized steelhead is possible as well! This beauty weighed in at 14 pounds!!
The number to all this madness is 920-918-9653. Call today!!

Got to love a trip with family bonding of future generations!
A nice walleye that ended the evening of a fishing trip!
More family bonding with a pile of fish! Crappies were on fire!!
The game fish season closes this season until the first Saturday of May but a few pre spawn females were on the feed!
Caught this fish during a fisheree and placed 3rd place!

Late ice is approaching and we have the Frabill jiggler long poles to give the panfish the hurt! Even a bonus bass can be caught during this!
Another nice pre spawn female pike! These fish on tip ups is a blast as you fight them by hand!
A cool shot of the spoon this pike ate! There was no getting off of this fish!
Its too bad the pike fishing is closed now for the year but don't worry we will be ready to be back at them next winter!
It is panfish time in the state! As spring approaches and the ice starts to melt, it can be some of the hottest fishing of the season!
We will be watching the ice and keep on these fish until the ice is gone! There is about 20 inches of ice in the areas we fish and will be safe to catch these tasty morsels for a few more weeks.

The boats are being buffed, polished, and primed up for lake Michigan 2013! Dates are starting to book up so get your date as soon as possible and lets see you this summer!!

Woman on Winnebago

Well we are back from a week filled of media and woman! We were lucky enough to take part in the Woman on Winnebago event the past weekend out of Fond du lac!
None of the ladies in the event were lucky enough to spear a sturgeon but here is a shot of someone who was!
A big thanks goes out to Wendt's on the Lake for the shack rentals and a great lunch on Sunday.
A Kodak moment brought to you by Frabill.
In the afternoons, We guided the woman on the Winnebago system! Here is a big gill that guide Greg pulled out while scouting! The chartruse majmun jig from Custom Jigs and Spins was the ticket for these fish.
Frabill pro and Professional walleye angler Marianne Huskey takes a turn at cutting a sturgeon hole!
Throughout the few days too we did some filming with the guys from Custom Jigs and Spins for product promotion on Midwest Outdoors. Here is Walt Matan with a nice perch!
Another participant of the WOW event takes her shot at cutting a sturgeon hole.
Carrie from the convention of visitors bureau in Fond du lac cuts a sturgeon hole! These ice saws carry a 4 foot long blade!
Barb Carey of Wisconsin Woman Fish pulled this nice gill!

Guide Greg and Poppee Matan with their morning film catch! Watch these episodes next winter!

The fish are still active and ice is in great shape with some more cold temperatures coming this weekend. The ice should last awhile and panfshing should remain hot for many more weeks! We are on them so lets get some in your pail!

We were up in our eagle river area guiding this past weekend. Warm temps made for some good fishing weather to stay mobile to get on some really nice fish.
The fishing was so good the Frabill snowman even got in on the action.
A bunch of nice crappies were found working the weed edges in the afternoons!
Can't read the tape in the picture that well but the fish measured out at 14 inches. A true slab!
Here is Amanda with her first ever walleye! What a great start on her walleye board as this fish measured out at 23 inches.
Another big crappie pictured with the Frabill rod that took it!
Amanda and Kyle got a nice meal of bluegills, crappies, and perch along with a walleye.
Welcome to Hiawatha lodge. Its our new home in Eagle River. Nice northwoods style rooms, continental breakfast, and a group area with a movie theater and pool table!
Another nice crappie caught on a Northland Forage minnow!
Here is Wolf Pack guide Greg with a fish he caught while fishing with the customers. This fish measured out at a whopping 14.5" and is going to look beautiful on his wall! A true trophy!
Here is Kyle with a big 13 inch crappie!

With this winters crazy weather, there is still lots of good safe ice at our locations. We have a good solid month of game fish season to go and some late ice panfish in march as long as conditions allow. Come get in on this action!
